The Thaw by D.D.

The thaw began at midnight – the melt began to start
His burning kisses warmed the frost, around her frozen heart. The ice began to shatter – the thaw was on it’s way.
His breath, his skin, his needing her, the frostbite went away.
The freeze began at midnight – in the coldness of her bed The ice it gathered swiftly, over everything he’d said.
The thaw it came but briefly – the melt it did not stay.
And as his kiss froze on her lips – her dreams were iced away.
