She tried her hardest, she tried her best
But she woke up in a cuckoo’s nest.
Her things disappeared one by one
The cuckoo destroyed the girl she’d become.
It pecked at her eyes, it pecked at her lips
It pecked away at her shoulders and hips.
It was early May when the cuckoo came
And by June, the intruder had taken her name. She tried her hardest, she tried her best
But she couldn’t survive in that cuckoo’s nest.
